A brief history of the property was reviewed.
What has happened thus far:
• Have met with the Park & Rec Board. The meeting did not go well. More of us should have attended, which was discouraged.
• Have met with the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. The seed for the Rec Center was planted, however there was no interest in switching properties for the R55 development.
• Montgomery County Planning Commission has voted AGAINST the R55 zone change
• Upper Merion Township Planning Commission has voted AGAINST the R55 zone change
• We have a web site and t-shirts
• We have a table at the Township Fair where we will sell t-shirts and spread the word by handing out brochures regarding the September 27 meeting and the Recreation Center.
The following committees were created to address specific issues. We will reconvene before the September 27 meeting to discuss our accomplishments:
• The Neighborhood’s desires and needs – organized sports
• Community Fair
• Zoning
• Other Rec Center Comparisons
• Open Space
• Research where Township can get money
